Dr. Teresa Drummond-Rieger- Practice Owner
Dr. Teresa Drummond graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Upon graduation she accepted a position at Cheyenne Pet Clinic, a progressive small animal and exotic American Animal Hospital Association hospital in Cheyenne, WI Dr. Drummond worked in Cheyenne for 4 years where she fine-tuned her skills in treating wildlife and exotic animals. Despite the allure of the mountains and the wide-open spaces the desire to return to her home state brought Dr. Drummond to Gadsden in May of 1993. She purchased Rainbow City Pet Clinic, then named Animal Hospital of Rainbow Drive. Dr. Drummond’s medical interest includes dermatology, oncology, endocrinology, general surgery and exotic animals, medicine and surgery. Teresa lives on a farm in Rainbow City with her husband Farrell Rieger formerly of Cherokee County, AL. Together they have 6 dogs, 3 cats, 4 horses and recently the addition of a few cattle. Dr. Drummond’s interests include travel, the theatre, horseback riding, hiking and fly-fishing, riding her motorcycle and scuba diving.
Dr. Bruce D. Hutchinson- Associate Veterinarian
A native of Alexandria, Kentucky, Dr. Hutchinson completed his graduate work at the University of Kentucky. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1972. Following graduation, he completed a preceptor ship at Apollo Animal Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. He then completed residency in small animal medicine and surgery at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, Texas A&M University. He remained on that staff as an instructor in small animal surgery until entry into the U.S. Air Force. As a military public health veterinarian, Dr Hutchinson was assigned to RAF, Alconbury, England from 1974-1977. Upon leaving the military, he practiced briefly in Macon, Georgia before moving to Rainbow City. From 1978-1988 he owned and operated Rainbow City Animal Hospital (now Animal Health Care). In 1987, the U.S.D.A. Food Safety and Inspection Service employed Dr. Hutchinson as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer, a position in which he is still engaged. From 1988-1993, Dr. Hutchinson worked part time as a relief doctor in practices throughout northeast Alabama. In 1997 he joined our staff here at Rainbow City Pet Clinic.
His interests outside veterinary medicine are Auburn football and Kentucky basketball.
Dr. Hutchinson is married to the former Laetitia Crawford of Marion, Alabama. They have five beautiful daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter.
